The Art of Fit

Finding Your Perfect Fit

From our experience, generic size guides do not give the perfect fit to many of our clients. This is why we use the made to measure model where capturing our client's measurement is an essential part of the order process.

This guide is designed to help you find your fit, from the sharp cut of tailoring to the ease of relaxed silhouettes.

How to Measure

Measure over light clothing, keeping the tape snug but not tight. Always stand upright, relaxed, and avoid pulling the tape too firmly. Each measurement is a guide to help you match the precision of ǑZHEA tailoring.

Upper Body (Coats, Jackets, Shirts, Dresses)

  • Shoulder – From the tip of one shoulder straight across to the other.
  • Chest/Bust – Around the fullest part of the chest or bust, keeping the tape parallel to the floor.
  • Waist – The narrowest part of your torso, usually just above the navel.
  • Seat (Hips) – Around the fullest point of your hips and seat, keeping the tape level.
  • Length – From the highest point of the shoulder down to the hem where the garment ends.
  • Sleeve Length – From the shoulder seam down to the wrist bone.
  • Arm Round (Bicep) – Around the widest part of the upper arm.
  • Neck – Around the base of the neck, just above the collarbone.

Lower Body (Trousers, Skirts, Pants)

  • Waist – Around your natural waistline where the trousers are designed to sit.
  • Seat (Hips) – Around the fullest part of the seat and hips.
  • Thigh Round – Around the widest part of the thigh, just below the hip joint.
  • Crotch Round (Rise) – From the center front waistline, through the crotch, up to the center back waistline.
  • Knee Round – Around the knee at its midpoint.
  • Bottom Round (Hem Width) – Around the hem of the trouser leg opening.
  • Out seam – From the natural waist down the side of the leg to the ankle bone.
  • Inseam – From the crotch seam straight down to the ankle bone.

Fit Notes

  • Tailoring: ǑZHEA suits are cut with a structured shoulder and slim waist. For a relaxed look, consider sizing up.
  • Shirts & Tops: True to size. For an oversized silhouette, select one size larger.
  • Trousers: Designed to sit at the natural waist; length allows for a subtle break at the shoe.
  • Outerwear: Structured but accommodating layering — choose your usual size.

Final Note

Every ǑZHEA garment is designed with intentional proportion. If you fall between sizes, we recommend choosing the larger for ease, or the smaller for a sharper, closer fit.

However, we recommend the use of the Made-to-measure model where capturing our client's measurement is an essential part of the order process.

"Precision in tailoring begins with precision in measurement."
